Cataract Surgery after LASIK or PRK
Utilizing the ORA System
Because laser vision correction surgery alters the shape of the cornea, it is more difficult to accurately calculate and select the appropriate power of the lens implant needed for cataract surgery. The same difficulty occurs in patients with high myopia (strong minus prescription) or high hyperopia (strong plus prescription).
Video Title : In Surgery Measurements
The ORA intraoperative aberrometry system allows the surgeon to perform measurements in the operating room during the procedure, and the power of the lens implant is selected by the ORA system with greatest accuracy. This greatly reduces the need for distance glasses after cataract surgery.
