Comprehensive Eye Exams
A thorough “A to Z” exam entails a complete review of your ophthalmic and related medical symptoms. We will discuss your ocular complaints and medical history before checking your vision, with and without glasses. Then we test for pupil function, color vision, stereo vision and intraocular pressure.
We will check your eyes for glasses, if needed, and use a special instrument, a Slit Lamp, to study the front part of your eye (it won’t hurt at all!). The back of the eye’s optic nerve and retina will be checked with dilation drops or a “snapshot” by the OPTOMAP machine. Dilation will cause reading vision to blur for 4-6 hours along with light sensitivity so we recommend bringing sunglasses, and a driver if possible.
