Matossian Eye Associates’ Local Artist Program exhibited two artists for Winter 2017. Vicki Margulies’ works were presented in our Doylestown, PA office while Chris Ochadlick’s works decorated the walls in our Hopewell, NJ office. Local artists sign up to display their artwork in our reception areas for a three-month period. This offers visual interest for our patients and exposure for local artists.
As part of our Local Artist Program, a People’s Choice Award selection takes place to engage our patients with the artwork. Ballots are placed in the reception areas and patients are asked to vote for their favorite piece. After counting the votes, our patients declared “Salsify” to be the favorite of Chris Ochadlick’s’ artwork and “Golden Day” the winning choice of Vicki Margulies’ pieces. Choosing was not easy for our patients as the talent demonstrated in each of the pieces was varied and eclectic!
Our newest exhibits will extend through the end of June. James Feehan is featured in our Hopewell, NJ office and Mary Luz Robinson is featured in our Doylestown, PA office.
James Feehan is an artist that is mostly self-taught, motivated by his wonderful teachers growing up who exposed him to wonderful types of art that grew his curiosity and eventually lead him to paint. James’ work derives from his subconscious impulses that “produce paintings… and distil a bit of the universal.”
Mary Luz Robinson describes her work as a “spontaneous impression of color and movement” with color being her theme. Mary draws her inspiration from such famous artists as Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo– Picasso for his bold abstract images of women, and Frida for her vibrant colors and the way she captures so much about herself in her self-portraits.
