Clinical studies are a major area of activity for our team at Matossian Eye Associates. As a multi-specialty practice, the possibilities in which we can help our patients are vast. From dry eye disease to glaucoma and beyond, we are actively doing our part to improve medical treatment options and patient care.
Let’s look at a couple of current studies on a big topic of frustration for many of us: Dry Eye.
Klarity-C: The Dry Eye-Combating Drop
Do your eyes ever feel gritty or water excessively? You may be surprised to learn that symptoms of this nature are often related to dry eye disease. When the surface of your eye becomes dry, it’s very bothersome and can even blur your vision. Our doctors will often ask our patients, ‘do you like drops?’ Dependent on your answer, we may have a study that can benefit you.
While many patients may not ‘like’ drops, they can add drops into their daily routine with ease. One of current clinical studies is for Klarity-C, a dry eye combating eye drop. Klarity-C is used twice daily and is already on the market, but research doesn’t stop there. Join this study and receive a free three-month supply of the medication. Your only obligation is two short visits, three months apart while using the drop. Study participants will be compensated.
Dry Eye Devices: Create Your Own Natural Tears
If on the other hand, you suffer from dry eye disease but can’t get into an eye drop habit, what about a device? Matossian Eye Associates is currently enrolling patients for a device that when used, helps you create your own natural tears.
The device is used externally, meaning nothing will enter your eyes, which is something patients can appreciate. The device is used twice daily for a one-month period, and patients are already starting to share positive feedback about their experiences. The device is provided to you at no cost during the study use period, and for each visit you return, you will be compensated.
The Most Critical Component of Clinical Studies: YOU
Clinical studies are not possible without patients who are willing to get involved and make a difference while also treating symptoms or diagnoses. Each study in which we participate is not possible without you. Clinical studies are inspired by our patients because we want to provide the best care possible, and we thank you for helping us reach this goal. Please contact Matossian Eye Associates for additional information – either online or by phone at (800) 708-8800 – to find out if one of our studies is right for you. Stay tuned for more!
