Dry eye disease is extremely common. Estimates say that there may be 50 million or more Americans suffering from this condition. Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, a condition in which the meibomian glands of the eye do not secrete adequate oil into the tears, is a frequent cause of dry eye.
We are fortunate, as eye care providers, to have a variety of diagnostic tools to help us make the diagnosis. We’re even more fortunate to have multiple advanced procedures to treat dry eye associated with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction.
These include LipiFlow from Johnson and Johnson, TearCare, and EyeLocks from Alcon. Discover more in the dry eye section of our website.
